MISS AVA TWO YEARS

My niece Ava is a delight...when she is in charge, that is. Yesterday we headed to the park and thought we would take a couple of shots for Ava's two-year pictures. It was a disaster, and it ended with more than one person leaving in angry tears. I told my sis that we could try again the next day and just take some of Ava on her turf at home, and within three frames we had the perfect shot of happy Ava. I had to be sure to get lots of detail shots because my niece is super aware and picky about her outfits, jewelry, and shoes. A true diva like her mommy. What is that saying about payback?

MATHESON FAMILY

I love photos of grandparents. I don't know what it is, but there is just something so beautiful to me about someone who has lived a long life. I think part of it for me is that so many older people don't let me take their picture--they feel younger than they look and they just don't like pictures of themselves. But what they don't understand is how much their children and especially grandchildren love that "old" face.

Granddaughter Sara wanted a four generation picture with her grandma while she was in Salt Lake visiting family. I am just crazy about these pictures because from adorable baby Ava to sassy Grandpa there is such beauty. Plus there is a bond of family that is forever.

KRISTI'S BRIDALS

When I first heard that Kristi's grandmother was making her dress, I was immediately excited to see it. I love the idea of someone special in your life making a very special dress for you. And let's admit it: not a lot of people have the skills these days to make a perfect wedding dress. When I finally saw Kristi's dress I couldn't believe how adorable it was. It made me want to get married all over again because it is totally a dress that I would wear.

She is also effortlessly adorable. She put her coat on after the shoot was over, and I just had to snap a picture.
